Trekkings and Hikes discover the magical paths of the Dolomites

An amazing hike at high altitude for eveybody, children as well. You can hike through this path also with pushchairs or baby carriers.

Starting point is at the Ciampedie, which can be reached by cable car from Vigo. at 2000 m above the sea level. From here, you can enjoy an astonishing view of the Dolomite of Fassa Valley. We follow the path number 540, which is large and flat, we ealk thorugh the ski slope and through a forest with mostly stone pines, surrounded by the typical nature of high mountains.

The path is comfortable and we walk to wounderful landscapes and a fabled environment. Along the path we will find panels explaining the legends of ths valley, of the animals and the legendary creatures of the forest. on the right side we can admire the jagged peaks and the rock rifts of the face of the Larséch and on the West side the imposing face of the Catinaccio Rosengarten.

Then we get out of the forest and find some lodges; in a few minutes we then get to the refuges of the basin of Gardeccia.

This enjoyable path connects the villages Pera and Pozza to Vigo, horugh a panoramic path through the slopes of Ciampedìe, at the boundary between the forest and the meadows od Sorapoza.

Along the path you will find flat surfaces, some hills and some slopes and walk through many grass basins along the forest. Mostly under the shadow, along the path you will find tables and benches in the most panoramic areas: this path is a relaxing hike.

The path starts from Pera di Fassa, in Strada de a Taboca. After the last houses, you turn right and go up till a curve of the unpaved road, where you have to turn right through the meadows. The first part of the path is flat, then you gradually start going up till you get to the forest.

You do towards Pozza (you reach there also from Troi de Vich and from Strada de Chieva) and Vigo, enjoying an amazing view of the Costabella and of the Valacia Group on the left side. You enter Vigo from the Strada de Piz and in a few minutes tou get to the center of the village.

This is the only way you can reach the Refuge Re Alberto and the amazing basin of the Gartl, one of the most suggestive places of the Dolomites of Fassa Valley, hiking. It is overlooked by the legendary Torri del Vaiolet.

Once you reach the basin of Gardeccia from the Ciampedie through the comfortable path 540, you keep hiking on the unpaved road 546. After the forst steep part of the path, yu reach the astonishing Vaiolet Valley, along a narrow path along the rocky face of the Porte Neigre. You keep the left and go up through the rocky cliff following the sings of the hairpin turns.

You find the path 541, which starts in the Passo Cigolade and afterwards you reach the big flat meadows with the refuges Preuss and Vajolet. Then you keep on the path 584 of the Passo Principe. Then you turn left and enter the steep gully under the towers (path 542), walking carefully on smooth rocks. In the most difficult spots you find metal ropes which can help you.

You reach then the Refuge Re Alberto I, on the astonishing basin of Gartl, surrounded by the famous Torri del Vaiolét, the North face of the Catinaccio Rosengarten and the jagged Crode di Re Laurino. Through a comfortable path cutting across the screes, you can reach quickly/in a short time the Refuge Passo Santner.
